Best Restaurants in East Nashville 2023

East Nashville is to Nashville proper what Brooklyn is to Manhattan: across the river, slightly cooler (so we’ve been told), and home to some of the city’s best restaurants and counting. Even Nashville proper foodies would agree that when it comes to good eats, East Nashville is really where it’s at.

These are our top 5 must-eat East Nashville spots for 2023:

The Pharmacy

Burger parlor & beer garden, The Pharmacy is essentially all the best things in one spot. Their milkshakes are also impeccable. We highly recommend choosing outdoor seating for the rustic aesthetic.

Grill Shack

Best fries in Nashville, not complete without malt vinegar and Old Bay (just trust us). The East location is quite literally a shack– an adorable one– and its creations never cease to amaze us.

Smith & Lentz

Their pizza rivals Jersey pizza and we had a Jersey-native fact check us on that. Their beer is also a must for hops-lovers and dabblers alike.

Mas Tacos

An East Nash staple and legend. We love Mas Tacos not just for its tacos, but the fact that you can skip the “jeans and a nice top” dress code and show up as you are. Comfortable, casual, and so delish.

Two Ten Jack

Some of the best flavors in East Nashville, our favorite spot for something a little more upscale and vibey.

Jeni’s

Is an ice cream parlor a restaurant? Either way, you’re gonna need dessert. Best ice cream in Tennessee, maybe the country. We love all their unique flavors, including the dairy-free options, but your trip isn’t complete without trying gooey butter cake.

And while you’re in town, why not book a hotel that’s central to all of these? Book your stay at The Gallatin today.
